鸡岗村属揭阳市惠来县的东埔农场，是其中的一个行政村，村名来自村址所在的鸡地山岗。[2]村民以经营水果为主，其中荔枝是主要品种。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

清代雍正年间，此处为惠来县十七铺之一，旧址称沙岗，处于古驿道上龙江、双梅两铺之间，该址如今划入大南海工业园区。[1]现今的鸡岗村委会设立于1999年，此前1987年至1999年为管理区，1983年至1986年称鸡岗乡。1966年此地改设红光作业区，1978年恢复原村名，并设鸡岗大队。1959年鸡岗并入东埔农场之前，它属溪西公社盟山大队。[2]

经济[edit]

本村的产业以农业为主，村民靠经营水果增收，集体经济基础薄弱。[2]

文化[edit]

2019年9月，鸡岗村上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[2]2024年3月，鸡岗村被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[2]
