青坑村在葵潭东边，与普宁市的马鞍山农场接壤，村子周围青山环抱。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历，据博雅地名网：村子四周青山环抱，地处坑坳，两条小溪在东西两侧绕村而过，故名青坑。[1]

明永乐年间，吴、江、古、陈、林等姓先后来此定居。嘉靖年间（1529～1566），黄姓迁入，其他姓氏渐次迁往别处，只剩黄氏一族。[2]

1962年，村子曾为青坑公社驻地；1974年归青山公社。2004年青山乡撤销，村子归葵潭镇管辖。[2]

2024年3月，青坑村被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

2009年底，全村总人口3558人。耕地2206亩，其中水田1675亩、山地16500亩。村民主要收入来自农业，种植菠萝、荔枝、梅仔等。[1]
