村名的来历，据博雅地名网：此地是古葵潭圩通往普宁县的要道，道口建有一座路亭，因而得名葵亭。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

2009年底，全村总人口2549人。耕地830亩，其中水田413亩、山地4000亩。[1]

荔枝种植面积据称为3378亩，品种有三月红、乌叶、妃子笑、桂味、凤花等。村民收入以农业为主。[1]
