鸟坑村地处鳌江镇西侧，属老苏区，离镇区约3公里。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村地形似鸟，前临鳌江，地势低洼。每逢大雨，后方山水与南面洪水都流注到村中，四周一片汪洋，故名鸟坑。[1]

明崇祯年间（1628～1644年），肖、陈二姓先在此居住，之后高姓迁来聚居。1952年设乡，此后的公社化时期改为大队；1983年至1986年改设乡政府；1987年至1999年为管理区；1999年改为村委会。[1]

文化[edit]

2023年5月，鸟坑村被评为「2022年广东省卫生村」。2019年9月，鸟坑村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
