新李村地处鳌江镇东侧，属老苏区，离镇区约3公里，是以农业为主的行政村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的一说是，清乾隆年间（1737～1795年）为防海盗，村民围寨而居，称李厝寨。村中居李、林二姓，住在村东的是李姓，故以此为名。[1]

另一说法是，村子靠近塭地后的土坎，故名新埭；明万历年间和清代的志书都沿用此名。[1]

南宋淳佑年间（1252年）有李姓自普宁里湖乌门楼迁来，立村。1963年公社化时改为新李大队；1983年至1986年改设乡政府；1987年至1999年为管理区；1999年改为新李村委会。[1]
