鳌江镇是广东省揭阳市惠来县下辖的镇，位于县境西南部，镇政府驻中澳村。因地处鳌江北侧，故以江名镇。[1][2]

鳌江镇滨临鳌江河下游，南面以鳌江河与陆丰市相隔。农业以水稻、花生、甘蔗为主，荔枝种植也较集中。[1][2]

第七次全国人口普查时，全镇人口为4.59万人。2025年8月，鳌江镇列入广东省第三批「百千万工程」专业镇建设名单。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

明清两代，鳌江一带属潮州府。1949年，此地先隶甲子区，再隶隆江区。1953年5月划归惠来四区，1956年12月由区改建为乡。1958年9月并入红江公社，1959年归葵潭场管辖。[2]

鳌江公社的设立年份，博雅地名网的历史沿革条目记为1962年，其基本介绍则记为1963年。1983年改设为区，1986年11月区改为镇。[2]

地理环境[edit]

镇域位于惠来县西南部，处在鳌江河下游。流经镇内的鳌江河段长8.5公里，北部丘陵上发源的虎堀水、三清水等小河汇入鳌江，全镇堤围线长9.14公里。[1]

全镇面积，县政府网站作63.06平方千米，博雅地名网作约59平方公里。镇区面积2.2平方千米，距县城直线距离27公里。[1][2]

第七次全国人口普查结果为4.59万人，博雅地名网于2021年6月据此公布。同一页的基本介绍写作人口3.6万，未注年份。[2]

经济[edit]

农作物以水稻、花生、甘蔗为主。镇内种植荔枝，年产量在100吨以上，是惠来县三大荔枝产区之一。[2]

镇内有淡水养殖渔池近400公顷，其中淡水养殖被列入广东省「一乡一品」项目。2025年8月，鳌江镇入选广东省第三批「百千万工程」专业镇建设名单。[2]

著名人物[edit]

郑雷震生于1642年，卒于1717年，他字汝龙，别号卧子，原籍龙溪都的澳头里，该处今为澳上村所在。清康熙二十年（1681年）中举人。[2]
