山陇村属惠来县溪西镇，原为南海乡所辖，2004年随南海乡撤销建制而划归溪西镇。村名因地处海边沙滩而得名，后经多次改称，1953年定名山陇。[1][2]

地名与历史沿革[edit]

村处海边沙滩的最高处，原称「沙岭」。明代中叶改称「沙陇头」，简称「沙陇」。清末至民国期间，「沙」与「山」的潮语读音相近，两字常被混写，1953年将沙陇改称山陇。[1]

南宋乾道四年（1168年），福建莆田人陈原父之次子蒙公迁来此地置居，聚落逐渐成村，居民皆为陈氏一族。[1]

1949年新中国成立后，村属南海农林场；1958年至1983年为大队，并属南海乡；1983年至1986年为乡政府，1987年至1999年为管理区，1999年改为村委会。[1]
