军林村地处镇区东南方，在龙江河下游南岸，距镇区约3.1千米，属惠来县溪西镇。村名先后称「居林」「君林」，现称「军林」。[1][2]

地理与人口[edit]

村由军上、军下两个自然村组成。村址在军上村，博雅地名网的沿革段则说村委会设在军下村，两说并存。全村人口3251人（未注年份），土地1.4平方千米；水田558亩与旱园337亩合计耕地895亩。[1][2]

地名与历史沿革[edit]

元至大年间（1308年至1311年），林氏分居于此，初名居林。明朝晚期，村中一位十五世祖因乐善好施，获授南京镇平卫之职，村名遂改为君林。清康熙年间因避讳，改为军林。[1][2]

1949年后村曾称乡；1958年至1983年为大队，1983年至1986年为乡政府，1987年至1999年为管理区，1999年改为村委会。[2]

经济[edit]

90年代初，村中以市场为导向发展萝卜生产。据博雅地名网所载，萝卜田有1500多亩，共产660多吨。[1]

村中萝卜加工厂共22家，加工量为15万吨，实现产值6000多万元。其中金农食品有限公司采用公司加农户的经营方式，年可加工萝卜脯8000吨，产值3000多万元，该公司在2000年获广东省人民政府授予农业龙头企业称号。[1]

教育[edit]

村内有学校一所，教职工12人，在校学生413人。[1]
