镇前村是广东省揭阳市惠来县溪西镇下辖的行政村，位于镇区东南部，龙江河下游南岸，距镇区约2.2千米。村名由旧时隆江圩市前的位置而来，因而得名店前，后改称镇前。[1][2]

地理与人口[edit]

村址设在镇前村。全村由镇前、西安两个自然村组成，镇前主要为唐氏迁居形成，西安则以林、翁诸姓聚居为主。全村人口3209人（未注年份），土地2.0平方千米；水田600亩与旱园709亩合计耕地1329亩。[1]

村东与军林村相连，西与新圩村相接，南面与山陇村毗邻，隔河与隆江镇相望，并有大道桥通往隆江镇区。[1]

地名与历史沿革[edit]

因地处古隆江圩市的前面，最初称店前，后改称镇前。[2]

1297年至1307年间，唐氏迁来此地定居。[2]

1949年后村曾称乡，办过初级社、高级社；1958年至1983年为大队，1983年至1986年为乡政府，1987年至1999年为管理区，1999年改为村委会。[2]

革命历史[edit]

镇前、西安两村均属革命老区。土地革命战争时期，本村林河双曾为红军第十一军第二师的战士，后在惠城牺牲。[1]

1947年，村中三房祠成立地下武装队，队员14人。1948年9月，两村先后设立村政府及农会、民兵。1949年1月，村民兵35人参加了围攻隆江镇敌人的行动。[1]

教育与荣誉[edit]

村内有小学一所，教职工10人，在校学生300人。[1]

2019年9月，镇前村上榜广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2021年9月，村入选广东省农业农村厅公布的第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单，专业为番薯。[1][2]
