院前村是广东省揭阳市惠来县溪西镇下辖的行政村，位于镇区西北部，在龙江河中游南岸，离镇区约1.5千米。村由院老、院新、山仔三个自然村组成。[1][2]

地理与人口[edit]

村地处省道葵和公路旁，深汕高速公路的出入口离村很近。全村人口2282人（未注年份），土地面积1.1平方千米；耕地583亩，水田296亩，旱园287亩；作物以水稻、蔬菜、薯类为主。[1]

博雅地名网的村情页对村址的记载不一：概况段说村址在山仔村，历史沿革段则说村委会设在院前新村。[1][2]

地名与历史沿革[edit]

明正统年间（1436年至1450年间），詹氏先由饶平迁到大副双创村，因水源不足，又迁到岳、陈两姓分住的岳厝寨、陈厝寨前面另建村落，故名院前。这两姓后来相继迁走。[2]

三个自然村相继在村东北和西北另建新居，山仔因背靠小山丘而得名，院老、院新则因先后建址而得称。[1]

1949年后村中办过农业社；1958年至1983年公社期间为大队，1983年至1986年为乡政府，1987年至1999年为管理区，1999年改为村委会。[2]

革命历史[edit]

三村均属革命老区。1948年6月三村各成立地下武装队，同年9月设立村政府及农会、民兵。1949年2月，三村民兵参加了解放隆江、甲子、惠城的战斗。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，院前村上榜广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2024年3月，村被命名为2023年广东省卫生村。[2]
