地理与人口[edit]
全村人口3771人（未注年份）。耕地811亩，水田401亩，旱园410亩，土地面积2.2平方千米；作物以水稻、蔬菜与薯类居多。[1]
博雅地名网的村页称溪二村为镇政府驻地，其镇页则说镇政府驻溪一村，两说并存。[1][3]
历史沿革[edit]
明初，陈、吴、庄、林等姓迁入定居，因地处龙溪西岸，取名溪西。1980年底，溪西一分为二，溪西上村改称溪二村。[1][2]
尊炉村本名庄炉村，明朝中期龚氏自福建蒲田迁入。后庄氏他迁，龚氏为怀念旧交，改称尊炉村。[1]
大革命时期，尊炉村于1925年6月成立农民协会，同年11月成立农民自卫队。暴动爆发时，村赤卫队和农民参加了攻打隆江镇和两次攻克惠来县城的战斗。[1]
新中国成立后，本村先后称溪西乡、溪西大队；1980年溪西大队一分为二，溪二随之改为溪二大队。1980年至1986年为溪二乡政府，1987年至1999年为溪二管理区，1999年起设村委会。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
西来古寺位于村内，明嘉靖四年（1525年）创建，寺内存有乾隆年间的木刻牌匾和释迦佛像。大革命和解放战争时期，该寺曾是红军及游击队的活动据点之一。[1][4]
百度百科称该寺1990年被列为惠来县文物保护单位，博雅地名网则称之为惠来县重点文物保护单位。[4][1]
教育、经济与荣誉[edit]
村内两处校舍分属溪西小学与尊炉小学，共有教职工38人，在校学生480人。1970年，村中在雨山顶创办溪西中学。[1]
村内有溪西养鳗场，由深圳一家企业于1999年投建，年生产鳗200吨。[1]
1998年，村获惠来县文明单位称号；2000年，镇党委授予村党支部先进基层党组织称号。2019年9月，溪二村上榜广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1][2]
