头寮村位于隆江镇北部，离镇区约15千米，是革命老区村。村名来源于明万历年间黄氏在溪流上游搭寮定居。[1]
地名由来[edit]
明万历年间（1578年），黄氏自盐坑迁来，在溪流上游搭寮而居，寮屋位于上游，故称头寮，土语叫峪口或溪口。民国19年（1930年）改称头荣，1949年恢复原名头寮。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
新中国成立初期办过互助组，之后改办初、高级社。1958年9月至1983年11月为大队，1983年11月至1986年为乡政府，1987年至1989年改为村委会，1989年至1999年为管理区，1999年又为村委会。[1]
