吉清村位于隆江镇东南面约7千米处，属隆江镇。村名原作“绞清”，因村前潭仔石湾水清，改称吉清。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

大南山诸河汇入村前，再注入神泉港。村庄下方有一处天然岩石湾，当地称潭仔石，湾旁有一棵大榕树，水流在湾中回旋。水清而绿，原名绞清，后人取吉祥之意改称吉清。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明代中后期建乡，有吴、张、郑、林四姓聚居。1958年前称吉清，1958年至1983年并入大队，1983年至1986年改设乡政府，1987年至1989年为村委会，1993年析出独立成立吉清管理区，1999年改称村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，吉清村列入2018年「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2024年3月，吉清村被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
