北溪村位于石榴潭水库下游，距镇区7千米，属隆江镇。村名因北面有一条小溪向东南流去。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明弘治四年（1490年），刘姓一世祖得荣公从丰顺迁居此地，当时村中已有李、陈、钟、邓四姓。明正德年间四姓迁往他乡，只留刘姓。[1]

1959年，因修建石榴潭水库，全村整体迁移，村名沿用，在土名皮刀地另建居住区，仍称北溪。1958年至1983年为北溪大队，1983年至1986年改设乡政府。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，北溪村列入2018年「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
