历史沿革[edit]
宋末，林氏从福建莆田迁来定居，地属龙溪都竹溪楼。村分东侧的竹湖新村（简称竹新）与上游的水头两片。[1]
新中国成立初期办过高级社；1958年成立大队，1983年至1987年间设乡政府，1987年改称管理区，1999年定名竹湖村委会。[1]
人物[edit]
林武略生于1700年，卒于1784年，原名康元，字脱斋，系龙溪都竹湖里人，即今竹湖村一带。[3]
文化[edit]
竹湖英歌舞是镇里的民俗表演，镇政府的总结与西塘八音、潮乐并提。[4]
