历史沿革[edit]
明天启三年（1623年），朱、许两姓先在此搭寮耕种，地近海湾，初名“洋港寮”。后因各姓需要和睦相处，改名“和双”。[1]
此前村名为后埔村，原居林姓，后遭寇掠，村落废弃；1623年之后，陆续有人迁居，重新成村。[1][2]
1960年以前与坑湖大队合并管理；之后曾先后归双湖农场、南海场管辖。1985年，和双独立设乡，设和双乡政府；此后历经村委会、管理区等建制，1999年定为村委会。[1]
