历史沿革[edit]
南宋绍熙四年（1193年），吴氏在此创村，初名石壁，后迁至江侧另一处居住，改称鳌江。[1]
祥兴二年（1279年），据传宋帝昺驻师当地，阅览文天祥的奏表后，村名改为览表。村后地龙埔上有一块平台石，称览表石。[1]
1950年，村庄属惠来县览表乡。此后历经大队、乡政府、村委会、管理区等建制，1999年再度以村委会的形式运作至今。[1]
