文昌村在惠来县城南面约5.9公里，位于文昌山南侧。村民以盐业为主，兼营农业。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村地处文昌山南侧，因而称文昌。[1]

俗称与生计[edit]

古时村民多以晒盐为生，虽劳苦贫困，却民风淳朴，故当地人称村为“忙清”，民间流传“忙清忙不富”的俗语。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

明初，邓氏先居村北约300米处的后山头，不久南迁至今址。其后余、林、周、许、朱、黄、谢、柯、方等姓陆续迁入，多数聚居在文昌山南侧。[2]

1949年至1958年间办过初级社、高级社；1958年至1983年为大队，1983年设乡，1987年成为管理区，1999年才定为文昌村委会。[2]
