蔗埔村在惠来县城东南面约6.2公里，以村委会驻地命名。村民以农业为主，种植水稻、番薯、花生。[1]

地名由来[edit]

清康熙十四年（1675年），附近一个村的吴姓居民到山埔上看守甘蔗，后在此定居创村，称大蔗埔。1980年地名普查时简称蔗埔。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立后一度称大蔗埔乡；1958年设为大队。1983年至1986年为蔗埔乡政府，1987年起称管理区，1999年才定名蔗埔村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予本村「2021年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号。[1]
