地名由来[edit]
村地靠海湾岬角，周围有三处高地，形如炉沿上的垫角，故名炉园。1950年因“炉”字在当地土俗，改称芦园。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
早在宋代，就有少数渔民搭寮居住于此。明万历年间，卢、庄二姓相继迁入，逐渐形成村落。1949年曾成立农会，办初级社、高级社；1958年公社化期间称大队，内分渔业队与农业队。1983年区乡制改革后设乡政府，1986年起称村委会，1989年又成管理区，1999年定名芦园村委会。[1]
名胜[edit]
溪东炮台位于村内溪东港港口的大崎山峰顶，清康熙五十六年（1717年）建，设大炮8门、营房12间，驻防外委1员，守兵28名。炮台墙高3.4米，南北长各24.3米。[3]
1983年，溪东炮台被批准为县级文物保护单位。[3]
荣誉[edit]
2022年1月，广东省乡村振兴局确定本村为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位。[1]
