华家村在惠来县城南面约10.5公里，濒临南海，以渔业为主，兼营农业，村前有司神公路经过。[1]

地名由来[edit]

明万历八年（1580年），因海寇侵扰，游、张诸姓迁到伯公山脚下避风，搭寮定居，称该处为下坑。其后谢、吴、胡、林、李、许等姓陆续迁入，遂成村落；1937年改雅称为华家村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代已有渔民在海边搭寮守船。1949年至1985年间，村子与邻近村落同属一个大队。1986年起从原单位划出，独立设华家村委会；1987年改设华家管理区，1999年定为华家村委会至今。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年9月，广东省农业农村厅发布的专业村名单中，本村以鲍鱼入选，名列「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村。[1]

2019年9月，本村上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
