沟疏村隶属前詹镇，位于镇东南部沿海丘陵地带，离镇址约4公里，离惠城约15公里。[1]

村子面临南海，背后三面为低山丘，两侧水沟在村前汇合后流入南海，故称「沟疏」。[1]

明正德年间（1506～1521年），吴氏来此定居，后林、陈等姓相继迁入，现有吴、林、陈、詹、蔡、方、黄、朱等姓。[1]

新中国成立初，此地为神泉区下的沟疏乡；1956年划归神泉镇，1958年并入神泉公社，设沟疏大队，1961年3月改属前詹公社。1983年隶属前詹区公所，设沟疏乡政府；1987年划入前詹镇，设沟疏管理区；1999年改为前詹镇沟疏村委会。[1]

村内的滨荷湾旅游景区以荷花闻名，2021年报道称连片荷花达300多亩，成为市民赏花的去处。[2][3]

2022年8月，沟疏村获授惠来县首批「无毒村（社区）」称号。[1]
