詹厝田村隶属前詹镇，位于镇西北部山区。全村耕地多为山坡地，水田较少，适宜种植林果。[1]

因村中水田稀少，村民十分珍惜保护，故以姓氏和田相合起名「詹田」，后改为「詹厝田」。[1]

清嘉庆七年（1802年），詹氏一支来此创村。1949年属神泉公社，1964年属前詹公社，1983年属前詹区公所，1987年分出设立詹田管理区，1999年改设詹厝田村委会。[1]
