石峻村位于前詹镇西北的深山之中，村背靠雄鸡山，山石陡峭，村名因此得名「石峻」。[1]

明崇祯年间（1628～1644年），戴氏来此创村，后林、黄、郑等姓相继迁入聚居。1949年称石峻村，1958年至1983年为石峻大队，1983年至1986年设石峻乡政府，1987年改为石峻管理区，1999年改为石峻村委会。[1]

村中的榕石生态园（榕石风景区）山上榕树遍布、怪石嶙峋，是近年发展起来的文旅景点。[2][3]

2020年12月，石峻村被列入2020年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2023年1月，获司法部、民政部命名为第九批「全国民主法治示范村（社区）」；2026年1月，获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
