塔兜村位于前詹镇北部山区，靠近塔兜岭南麓，离镇址约4.5公里，是一个纯农村庄。[1]
村后的山峰土名「山仔兜」，另一座山峰名「庵林」。山峦林立，形状似塔，村庄因此称「塔兜」。[1]
明末创村。1958年为铭湖大队下辖的塔兜村，1975年另设塔兜大队；1983年并入铭湖乡体制，成为其下辖的经济合作社；1987年设塔兜管理区办事处，1999年改为塔兜村委会。[1]
