前詹村是前詹镇的镇政府驻地，位于惠来县城东南约20公里处。它承接沿海各镇的交通要道，是全镇文化、政治与商业的中心。[1]

村名的来历是：南宋末年詹姓人从饶平迁来创村，因先到此地，又靠近南海，位于其他姓氏住址之前，故称「前詹」。此后王、郑、方、陈等姓陆续迁来选址居住。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年前此地隶属神泉区，称前詹乡。1958年9月起此地改属红旗公社，设为前詹大队；1961年3月另设前詹公社。1983年11月前詹公社改为前詹区公所，并改设前詹乡政府；1986年11月区公所改为镇人民政府，同时设立前詹管理区。1999年改设前詹村委会，沿用至今。[1]

2020年8月，前詹村因黑山羊养殖入选广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单。2023年11月，前詹村入选广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村。[1]
