武宁村是周田镇的一个行政村，位于镇域南部，以农业为主，种植芥菜等特色产品。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
一说宋代朝廷曾在此屯兵，地方得以安宁，村因此得名武宁；另一说明代真武寺神灵显应，护佑乡里，村民便以「武宁」为村名报答神恩。[1]
村落始建于宋代，先后有马、何等数十姓在此居住。明代（1368～1398），廖、胡二姓分别自潮阳溪头和县内另一村落迁入聚居。[1]
新中国成立后曾设乡，辖有两个村落；1959年撤去其中一个，并以武宁大队之名统辖；1983年设为乡政府，1987年为管理区，1991年分出一村另设管理区，1999年改为村委会。[1]
