杭美村是周田镇的一个行政村，位于镇域西部，以农业为主。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

元末，陈氏自福建兴化府莆田县迁来此地创村。村初名蓝尾，村后多森林，俗称林美，此后他姓逐渐迁出。[2]

地理先生何野云途经此地，关心陈氏族人，统一姓氏，并改地名为杭美。[1]

1926年10月设立农民协会，次年组建农民武装队伍，有35人；1928年，村民加入惠来农民暴动，并两次进攻惠来县城。抗战时期村落被列为「革命老区村」，村中有烈士数十人。[2]

新中国成立后设乡；1958至1983年公社化期间改为大队；1983至1986年区乡制改革时设为乡政府，1987年为管理区，1999年以杭美村委会之名沿用至今。[2]

经济[edit]

村中主要种植大蒜，2009年人均纯收入3620元。[1]

著名人物[edit]

陈国英生卒年为1596至1652年，陈琳生卒年为1633至1721年；二人原籍酉头都杭美里，即今杭美村，后移居惠城。[1]
