华厝村是周田镇所辖的行政村，下设华厝、田边、后头、石山四个经济联合社。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名初称下厝，因地势低洼而得名；新中国成立后取雅称华厝。[1]

华厝是周田黄姓始祖的故居。南宋建炎年间（1127～1130），黄石门自澄海菊池迁来创村。[1]

明正德年间（1506），子孙繁衍，此后分散为若干村落。[1]

1958年至1972年间为公社大队下辖的一个自然村；1973年另设华厝大队，辖四个自然村；1983年后设为华厝乡政府，1987年划为华厝管理区，1999年起称华厝村委会。[1]
