周田镇是广东省揭阳市惠来县的镇，位于县城东部，距惠城16公里，北与潮阳县雷岭相接。[2]

镇名原为周山，因周围多山丘而得名；明代山地陆续辟为田园后，改称周田。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

南宋末年，黄氏自澄海菊池迁来置居，此地由此成为村落。[1]

周田在1949年隶属靖海区，两年后划为第七区。1958年由区改设乡，名为周田乡，当年又并入东红公社。1961年才重新析出，设周田公社；1983年复称周田区；1986年，此地设为周田镇。[1]

2024年3月，周田镇被命名为「2023年广东省卫生乡镇」。[1]

地理环境[edit]

镇域多丘陵山地。大南山南伸余脉绵延于华湖、前詹、周田三镇，由关门山经塔兜山向南直至海滨，沿海一带分布沙滩地。[3]

1987年全镇人口5.09万人。当年工农业总产值1679.36万元，内含农业产值1498.34万元，所占比重为89%。[2]

种植以荔枝、柑桔等水果为主，约8000多亩；主要经济作物为花生、大蒜，耕作以稻与薯为主，淡水养殖水面近3000亩，年份未注明。[2]

镇区在民国初期已形成农村集市，逢农历三、六、九日为圩期。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

厝坑村辖区内的施家有百花岩庄严禅寺，为县级文物保护单位。[5]

著名人物[edit]

林逊生卒年为1364至1404年，字文敏，别号志宏，籍贯为明代潮阳县酉头都狮石里，今属周田镇狮石村。1385年中进士，曾任福建闽县丞。[1][4]

陈国英生卒年为1596至1652年，陈琳生卒年为1633至1721年；二人原籍酉头都杭美里，即今杭美村，后移居惠城。[1][6]
