旧厝村位于靖海镇区东北面，地处半沙丘陵地带。村东南有海湾石风电场，村一带则有客鸟尾石笋奇观旅游区。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村子建于明万历年间（1573年至1584年）。天启年间（1621年至1627年），部分村民另行辟地新居。[1]

土地改革后此地称旧厝乡，随后于1958年转为大队。1983年区乡制改革时村并入他乡，改设经济合作社。此后曾改作管区，至1999年才成为村委会。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

博雅地名网记载，全村有232户，总人口1205人，劳动力550人，统计年份未注。耕地219亩，林地2300亩，海岸线长3公里。[1]

村中旅居香港等地的村民有300多人，是靖海镇的侨村之一。种植以甘薯、花生为主，水产养殖以养虾、鲍鱼、海胆和紫菜为主。[1]

名胜[edit]

客鸟尾石笋奇观旅游区位于旧厝村一带，距村约3公里，由海蚀作用形成的石笋群构成。其中既有冲天石柱，也有形似海狮、企鹅的岩体。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2026年1月，旧厝村获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」称号。2020年8月，旧厝村收入「首批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」名单，主产胡萝卜。2019年9月，旧厝村被收入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
