义湖村位于靖海镇的沙滩与丘陵地带，由义湖、草美、前林三个自然村组成，是一个纯农业地区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明天启年间（1621年至1627年），村民迁到此地开辟新居，仍沿用义湖的旧名。[2]

新中国成立后，此地一度并为联管区，后来又改为大队、乡政府。1985年，村内的几个自然村分拆重组，义湖与草美、前林合在一起，改称义湖乡。1986年改为义湖管区，1999年设义湖村民委员会。[2]

地理与人口[edit]

行政区域面积3.5平方千米，耕地571亩。博雅地名网记载，全村总人口1960人，统计年份未注。三个自然村中，义湖有1340人，草美居住的有350人，前林为270人；外出的劳动力达600人。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2026年1月，义湖村获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」称号。[1]
