驿后村位于靖海镇中心区，村落建在靖海驿站的背后，村名即由此而来。[1]
地名与历史[edit]
据《惠来县志》，武宁驿旧址在县城以东六十里，靖海所北门之外的地方；村子位于驿站的背后，因此称驿后。[1]
宋绍定年间（1228年），宋枢院玑阁使铨的后人派五世孙到此照看祖墓，由此有了村落；胡姓人家随后迁入聚居。[1]
1949年此地设乡，之后几经变动：先为驿后大队，再改称乡，又划为管理区。直到1999年，才改设村委会，沿用至今。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
博雅地名网所记全村为485户、2711人，统计年份未注。土地总面积3051亩，其中林业用地1048亩，耕地483亩。[1]
居民以农业为主，种植蔬菜与杂粮，也有少量浅海作业。[1]
荣誉[edit]
驿后村获得的「2022年广东省卫生村」称号，公布于2023年5月，发布方为省爱卫会。2019年9月，驿后村被收入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
