西庄村东临南海，与靖海镇接壤，村民新建的住房沿仙泉公路两侧展开。[1]村名因清初创村时分设东、西两庄，东庄后并入西庄而定。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清顺治年间（1644～1661），京陇人胡乃建与胡锦山先后到此创村，最初分为东庄与西庄两处。东庄靠海，常受风沙侵扰，后并入西庄。[1]

1957年起称西庄村，归仙庵乡管辖；1958年并入东红公社，成为西庄大队；1983年改为仙庵区西庄乡政府，1986年改称西庄村委会，1992年改为西庄管理区，1999年起称西庄村委会。[2]

人口与耕地[edit]

全村面积353公顷，水田耕地170亩，旱园259亩；人口2320人，402户，均未注年份。[1]

农事以稻谷、花生、番薯和大蒜为主。2008年建成一座面积40亩的抗旱蓄水池。[1]
