地名由来[edit]
村庄原名莿竹埔，因村后长满莿竹、并有大片草埔而得名；清末民国期间盛产稻谷，地主较多，又称粟埔。1959年石榴潭水库建成，良田竹林被淹，村名一度改作泗德埔；1974年移民建村，竹林再生，重新定名泗竹埔，沿用至今。“泗”指村前村后四水汇合于一个出口。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清康熙年间（1662－1722），林姓迁来定居，此前已有黄姓居住，后林姓人口渐盛，他姓迁出。新中国成立后办过初级社和高级社，1958年与周边村庄合组大队，1973年因移民建村，改名泗竹埔大队。[1]
1983年并入河田乡政府，1987年设泗竹埔管理区，1999年定为村委会。河林乡撤销后，村归惠城镇管辖。[1]
生计[edit]
村民主要靠荔枝、菠萝、青乌榄、油甘等果树收入。村内道路分别通往县城和隆江。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，泗竹埔村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
