地名由来[edit]
1723年至1735年（清雍正年间），林姓人家在此定居。村民和睦、乡风淳朴，初名「义阁廊」，后被叫成谐音“牛角兰”，又称“义里”。另一说法，村西有一块石头形似牛角，拦在水口，故名牛角拦，后演变为牛角兰。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1950年至1957年办过初级社和高级社。1958年并入义德大队，1974年另设牛角兰大队，1983年与周边村庄合设乡政府，1987年改设牛角兰管区，1999年起为村委会。河林乡撤销后，村归惠城镇管辖。[1]
经济[edit]
村庄为典型的纯农山村，耕地不多而山地较广。菠萝为特色水果，已形成规模化种植。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，牛角兰村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
