河田村位于惠来县惠城镇西北面约15公里处，在石榴潭水库上游，是移民村，也是革命老苏区。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村前原有一条弯曲小河自东向西流过，河边有一片田洋，故名河田。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明嘉靖年间（1552年），林姓自福建莆田迁来定居，当时已有黄、赖等姓居住，后林姓人口渐盛，他姓迁离。[2]

村内为「八乡林」发祥地，村中的「崇隆公祠」为八乡林祖祠，是惠来林姓的一大派系。1948年10月获得解放，次年设农会，此后办过初级社和高级社，1958年改称河田大队。[2]

1983年起设河田乡政府，1987年改为管理区，1999年定为村委会。河林乡撤销后，村归惠城镇管辖。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，河田村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2022年8月，被授予「2022年惠来县首批无毒村（社区）」称号。[1]
