北山农林场是揭阳市揭西县的乡级林场单位，原称大北山林场，林地与大北山国家森林公园大体重叠，场内不设社区和行政村。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年，揭西县设立大北山林场，后来也称北山林场。[2]

2001年，省林业主管部门同意以林场场部为基础设立省级森林公园，之后又引进企业参与保护性开发。[2] 2009年12月，这座公园提升为国家级。[3]

地理环境[edit]

林地总面积为3401.9公顷，气候属南亚热带季风类型，年平均气温介于18与20摄氏度之间，林木覆盖率在85%以上。[2][3]

山地的平均海拔超过七百米，其中笨箕石一峰高达1100米。[3]

林区内生长着148个科、七百余种植物，动物种类亦较多。[3]

人口民族[edit]

据2010年全国第六次人口普查统计，这里有196名常住居民。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

园区里有十八湾与龙潭崆两处瀑布，此外还有北山日出与茶园景致，并建有大北山革命历史纪念馆。[3]
