竹苏村在镇西部山区，距镇区9千米。村名由两个旧地名各取一字组成，1971年末分出设立。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1971年至1983年间为竹苏大队。1984年2月，大队改设乡政府；1986年改称竹苏村民委员会，1990年成为竹苏管理区，1999年又称竹苏村委会，延续至今。[1]

2019年9月，本村上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
