坡苏村位于揭西县五云镇西部，南与汕尾市陆河县水唇镇交界，麻宝公路穿村而过，属红色革命老区。[1]

全村总人口2696人、594户，据博雅地名网；百度百科所载相同。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年至1983年，此地属五云公社，为一个生产大队，队址设在一座徐姓祠堂内。1984年撤大队并设乡政府，1986年改设村民委员会，1990年设管理区，1999年恢复村民委员会建制，沿用至今。[3]

地理与经济[edit]

村内耕地629亩。山地合计11799亩，其中生态公益林5193亩。农业以水稻、花生、马铃薯为主，部分村民在山地种植速生丰产林，并到邻村租山种林。[1]

多数村民外出谋生，在五金批发零售和建筑两个行业较多。村集体没有经济收入。[1]
