1989年撤销管区时，村域自员埔乡析出；1999年设村委会，名称至今沿用。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，员西村被列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]

丰农合作社[edit]

丰农合作社设于员西村，主营水稻与番薯轮耕，另种植葡萄、草莓、台湾大青枣供采摘。该社番薯年产超80万斤，大米42万斤，并通过流转土地实现规模化、板块化种植。[2]
