钱坑镇位于广东省揭阳市揭西县东南部，处在榕江上游，东邻金和镇，南与普宁市相接，西北面与大溪镇交界。镇域面积以2018年统计的46.68平方千米计。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代，这里叫钱家寨，以钱姓为主，另有多个姓氏杂居。元初，林姓南山公从福建莆田迁来定居，其他姓氏或迁离或消失，林姓人口日渐兴旺，钱家寨便改称钱坑寨，即今镇名。[1]

民国时期，钱坑属揭阳县的第三区，该区又称棉湖区。新中国成立后，钱坑改属揭阳县第五区。1957年设钱坑乡，次年与金和乡合并组成钱坑人民公社，1961年金和另设人民公社。[2][1]

1967年7月揭西县设立，钱坑划归揭西县，同年自其中析出大溪人民公社。此后，1983年钱坑改为区建制，至1986年又改设为镇。[2][1]

地理环境[edit]

镇域属亚热带季风气候，全年无霜期超过360天，光、热、水资源充足，农、林、牧、副、渔各业都适宜。镇内共有62个自然村。[1][2][4]

人口[edit]

第七次全国人口普查（2021年6月）结果显示，钱坑镇人口为3.46万人。[1]

百度百科记载，截至2018年，镇内户籍人口为46255人。[2]

经济[edit]

2025年，农林牧渔产业的产值合计约5.2亿元，完成的固定资产投资约3.07亿元。[3]

揭西县钱坑金山双品三棱橄榄基地是2024年「粤字号」农业品牌目录的创新培优实践点之一，另列入广东省标杆家庭农场。[4]

文化[edit]

大龙香制作技艺为省级非物质文化遗产，2018年5月公布，列入第七批省级名录，保护单位是钱坑福源香厂。[8]

祭祖习俗（南山墓园祭典）为市级非物质文化遗产，2017年2月公布，列入第五批市级名录。[8]

2015年，钱坑木雕（保护单位为埔龙尾村委会）入选第二批省级生产性保护示范基地。[8]

名胜古迹[edit]

石灵寺位于钱西村的仙径山，又名石龙寺、石灵古刹，周围多巨石。清雍正九年（1731年）与1930年，寺院都有过重修，文献可查。2004年，寺院重新作为佛教活动场所开放。[5]

顶联大夫祖祠位于顶联村的湖眉村，又称林鸣鸾知府祠或广业祠，堂名「源远堂」，始建于清康熙年间。它是一座规模较大的潮汕式祠堂，正屋为硬山顶土木结构。2019年获公布为第九批广东省文物保护单位。该祠曾长期用作钱坑小学校舍，抗日战争和解放战争期间，中共揭阳县委的地下情报站设于此处。[6]

1949年2月，钱坑刚解放，闽粤赣边纵队第二支队把建猷公祠用作潮汕军政学校第一期校址，开办一个月，学员120多人。建猷公祠列入不可移动革命文物名录。[7]

镇政府2026年工作报告提到，镇内的旅游资源有木雕博物馆、钱西古村落和石灵寺。[3]
