井新村位于大溪镇榕江南河南岸，距镇区约1公里，毗邻井美村，三面环水，由两个自然村组成。[1]

大溪元宵柚的产地包括井新一带，果实成熟后可贮存至元宵节，因此得名。[5]

历史沿革[edit]

1983年设区、乡后属大溪区；1986年12月起为大溪镇井新管理区，1999年起称大溪镇井新村民委员会。更早时，1949年后先后隶属南联区大溪乡、五联区，1958年9月公社化后归钱坑人民公社，1976年9月分拆后改属大溪公社。[2]

经济[edit]

村内有膨润土和冰长石等矿产资源。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

井新古寨列为揭阳市的市级文物保护单位，村内另有善信古庵，列为「三普登记文物」。[3]

博雅地名网称，村中保存着李天生所建的祖屋和故居，至今完好。[1]
