贡东村位于棉湖镇北部，距镇区约5公里，是一个远离镇区、没有工业企业的纯农乡村。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
1958年至1983年为贡东大队，1984年改设贡东乡政府，1986年为村委会，1990年为管理区办事处，1999年再次改为村委会，名称至今不变。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村内修建了3.3公里长的村道水泥路面，并整修排污渠320米，安装主要出口路灯。[2]
文化[edit]
2020年，村获得「第六届全国文明村镇」称号。[2]2022年1月，广东省乡村振兴局确定村为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位。[1]
