下浦村在棉湖镇北部，贡山洋的东北边，北倚榕江南岸，村内有方厝栅、下浦、浦溪三处自然村落。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
早年村地属潮阳县，1563年划入普宁县。1949年后归揭阳县棉湖管辖，其间历经凤安区、东园乡等归属变动，1958年并入棉湖公社。1961年转入甲浦公社，次年方厝栅、浦溪与下浦三村合组下浦大队；1963年回归棉湖公社，1972年改隶棉湖镇。1983年设下浦乡政府，1986年改为村委会，1997年为管理区办事处，1999年又定为村委会。[2]

2026年1月，村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
