历史沿革[edit]
社区名称的来历是：先以镇政府所在的方位称作「向东」，后来改为「方围」。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
洪氏爱祖祠位于社区内，俗称洪万兴祠，始建于1922年，2022年7月列为第十批广东省文物保护单位。祠堂现作为社区的新时代文明实践站、综合性文化服务中心和棉湖书画学会会址使用。[1][2]
