鸿新村在凤江镇北部，东临榕江，与棉湖镇隔河相望，南接鸿江村，北连莪萃村，西接洪湖村。村内塑料加工业是重要的经济支柱。[1]

村内交通便利，水泥路面基本铺设到位，物流畅通。造料工业吸引了不少外地客户，村庄正从农业村逐步转向工业村，种植的作物以水稻、蔬菜为主。[2]

村里与鸿江村共同创建了鸿江小学，并设立卫生服务所。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年至1983年，鸿新大队是凤江人民公社的组成部分。1984年2月大队撤销，凤江区改设鸿新乡政府；1986年起称鸿新村委会，1990年纳入凤江镇政府的鸿新管理区，1999年正式定名鸿新村委会，沿用至今。[3]
