玉湖村是广东省揭阳市揭西县东园镇下辖的行政村，村域面积2.18平方千米，西面与桃围村相接。本村见于记载的人物有林英杰、林美、林庆，三人均于1948年至1950年间去世。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年至1983年称玉湖大队。1984年2月大队撤销，并入东园乡；1986年设村民委员会，1990年改为管理区，1999年改设村委会，此名沿用至今。[2]

经济[edit]

2009年底，全村有354户，人均可支配收入约4568元，村集体经济约21万元。[1]

2026年1月，玉湖村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。镇政府2026年的工作报告也将玉湖村与月湄村并列为镇内的两个「百千万工程」典型村。[1][3]

著名人物[edit]

林英杰（1913～1950年）别名邦富，又号贻庠，笔名为乡下人。他出生在泰国，幼时在曼谷上的小学；1927年跟随父亲返乡，进入揭阳榕江中学，次年春天转往福建厦门的水产学校求学。[1]

林美（1926～1948年），原名老谗。他少年时在本村放牛，青年时外出做长工，同时帮助玉湖的地下党组织张贴标语、散发传单。[1]

林庆（1925～1948年），原名庆良，出身雇农。他少时放牛，成年后在多处做长工，1947年7月参加潮汕人民抗征队。[1]
