汤坝村一带有地下热水资源。揭西县把龙潭镇汤坝村列为地下热水资源的分布地之一，认为它对旅游业、沐浴和养殖有较大经济价值。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
1956年组建高级农业社，1958年至1983年隶属汤坝大队。1984年，生产大队撤销，改为乡政府；1986年设立行政村委会，1990年起为管理区办事处，1999年恢复为村委会，名称沿用至今。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单；2021年9月，村入选「第二批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」名单，产业为橄榄。[1]
