下滩村位于河婆街道中西部，距县城约1.5公里，是革命老区，下辖桥头、寨肚、群丰、五联、广田5个自然村[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，此地早先为韩姓聚居，明万历年间（1573年至1620年）韩姓迁离，此后张姓迁入居住，延续至今[1]。1958—1983年归下滩大队管辖，此后于1984年改设下滩乡政府，1986年成为村委会，1990年设管理区办事处，1999年定名下滩村民委员会[1]。

文化[edit]

据揭西县河婆街道办事处2026年的报道，村里盘活了一处清代古建「选青书屋」，修缮后向本村老人和孩童免费开放，成为乡村历史文脉的一处阵地[2]。

名人[edit]

张国光（1925—1948年），俗名大炮，少年时在河婆大光小学读书，后因家境困难停学[1]。
